I have just returned from a 36 hour session on Kingfisher at Mousehole lakes with my son. I have to say this fishery is poles apart from any other I have visited in the last 40 years.
On arrival we were greeted by John the bailiff who gave us invaluable insight on how to approach our session. I spoke with other anglers, who were all friendly and also gave sound advice.
First impressions, a very pretty, clean and tidy lake. I did not even see one cigarette butt on the floor! All swims are very large and well made with bark chip. Each swim has a large amount of water in front with multiple features. During our session we took 9 fish to 21lb, including a double take 21lb and 18lb, all absolutely stunning and exceptionally hard fighting.
We used the Mousehole Kingfisher special bait. This was well rolled and looks and smells like a high quality bait (the fish obviously love it!).
Food is available on site one word required, OUTSTANDING.
There is a clubhouse with vending machine, microwave, TV and phone charger. Mousehole has a small tackle shop for bait and terminal essentials all at reasonable prices.
The toilets were always very clean and showers are available.
I would highly recommend Mousehole. Book it and try it you won’t be disappointed. I have already booked sessions in June and August. I have limited angling time these days and can only see this time being spent at Mousehole.
