I have just got back from a 48 hr session at Mousehole’s Kestrel lake with Chris Smith. I had six carp to 24lb 5oz. This was our first visit to the venue and as we only fish at day ticket waters it’s always nice to go to a new venue. We were greeted by Jon, the bailiff, who certainly knew what was good and what was not! Honestly he knew his stuff, and boy did he get us on the fish! Being very warm, we noticed a few carp on top, so without hesitation we set about putting a few mixers out. It didn’t take long to get them on the feed. Conditions were tough and an unfortunate angler on the other side blanked and also a few anglers on the other lake said it was tough but that’s fishing.

Credit to Jo and Dave for providing such a lovely complex for us to enjoy. Facilities are top notch, with clean and tidy showers and the cafe (which I’m told is very nice) but unfortunately was closed when we went.

We had such a pleasant time and can honestly say we will be back many times I hope.”

Just back from 48 hours on kestrel lake at mousehole for the 1st time

5 fish for me topped off with this stunning 33lb 12oz mirror… A couple of low 20 commons and a couple of doubles… All fish came to surfacing or zigs…virtually nothing else was caught around the complex certainly nothing else on our lake so it shows hard work pays off and we sure worked hard for them Dean Eaton😂😂

Lovely place… Lovely staff… Clean and well run… Credit to Joanne Denise Buckley and Dave for getting it to where it is today and Jon Cloke is the man… Top draw bailiff 👌👌👌👌untill next time people 🐳🐳🐳🎣🎣🎣

My first visit to Mousehole and 36hrs on Kestrel Lake. I had no fish this time but this did not ruin my experience by any means. From start to finish my experience was spot on. Dave and Joanne are the perfect owners… Very warm and welcoming. John, one of the bailiffs, such a gent and always there for advice, tips and a laugh.

I can’t actually fault anything…. Honestly probably the best fishery I’ve been to and I’ll be most definitely be visiting again!!

Thank you all so much for a great weekend that won’t be forgotten. Even the Mrs. enjoyed herself!!!!!

Hope to see you all soon… including Hugo. All the best.

Had a 60 hour session on Kestrel lake. This is by far the best venue i have been to in a long time, most places are after your money only. But Dave and Joanne are so friendly and welcoming, food cooked on site was very nice, home cooked meals all ordered and brought to your swims so no need to leave. The toilets and shower were super clean and plenty of facilities.

Will definitely be coming back again

Thank you again Dave.

Monday 28th may 2018, Kestrel lake, first time fishing on this specimen lake and venue booked in for 6 people for 60 hours.

First thing I must say is from the first phone call at booking to when we left Dave, Joanne and their team was so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us thanks guys. Toilets, showers really clean, food cooked onsite and brought to our swims nice and hot and plenty on the plate.

Grounds and lakes are kept in exceptional condition, we had 5 carp out between us, 27lb mirror, 23lb mirror 22lb and 17lb 6oz common and 16lb 7oz mirror, we were lucky to catch anything as we got caught in some major thunder and lightning storms and freak heavy rain and this lake still produced the carp. All in all a great time spent at this fishing venue and will definitely be returning to fish again and try One of the other lakes (Kingfisher).

Thanks again Dave and Joanne really enjoyed ourselves and will be seeing you again soon.

Had 48 hours on kestrel ,saw two fish in the net both commons 19lb and 25lb in tip top condition. Water still very cold but fish put up a great fight. I have fished a lot of venues over a lot of years but have never been made more welcome or offered practical advice as on my visit to mousehole. Thanks to Dave and all the team for giving us a fishery I can’t wait to go back to.

16th Feb 2018. I fished Kingfisher lake for a 48 hr session with great success. I had 4 immaculate fish to 32lb 6oz. It’s a great venue that I have fished 4 times previously. The cafe was shut however they offered to cook us curry and rice one of the evenings off there own back. Great place and the owners really look after their Angler’s thanks guys.

Just got back from another 48hr session on Kestrel lake. From the moment you arrive at Mousehole Lakes you are welcomed. Dave and Joanne have done a brilliant job with this venue. Every time we go it always has work ongoing which always improves your stay.

The facilities are brilliant, it’s a clean and tidy venue with everything you need from toilets to shower blocks even hot and cold food served which is also very nice!

Right now down to the most important part the fishing. It was my second time fishing the kestrel lake and again it didn’t disappoint. I had a 8lb common 12lb mirror 2x 17lb 1x mirror 1x common and a 20lb grass carp which was my first grass carp. All the fish I caught were hard fighting and all in brilliant condition.

So another enjoyable trip to Mousehole Lakes. Dont be afraid to ask any advice when you turn up the bailiffs Keith, Phil and Stuart can’t do enough for you and will point you in the right direction as well as the other anglers which you get to know the more you visit as most anglers seem to keep coming back which speaks for itself about the venue.

So a big thanks again to Dave and Joanne the 30lb plus carp got lucky this trip but next time you’re mine!

Arrival to a well kept and tidy establishment… Bailiff very welcoming and full of useful information, please use them they have the knowledge of a very tough lake.

Swims are of a great size and quality. No sign of damage or poor repair in swims all done to exceptionally high standard. Lake itself don’t be fooled, it may be small but it is a carp anglers rubix cube, loads of lake bed features silt, gravel bars, shelves and loads of visible surface features.

Was using big baits and big fish tactics so this four days was about size not quantity… bait establishment saw a 19lb golden common carp followed in quick succession of a 10lb 4oz common both great fish and well looked after.

Night before last saw a technical critically balanced rig change and a new baiting regime to the day before to bank a sublime 34lb 2oz mirror… the trip did what i intended quality over quantity… special mention to both owners who went above and beyond on kindness and hospitality and the same again for both bailiffs who where professional and as they should be well rehearsed on the waters.

This lake really is not to be looked at lightly be prepared for a small lake to get your angling head thinking. 10 out of 10 and i am already planning my return trip to this fantastic lake.

Just done a 36hr session on kestrel lake, first time on fishery and I have to say what a good fishery it is!!!

Staff were brilliant, very informative with contours of lake!! Toilet next to swims!! Swims very large and chip barked out!!

Was told lake holds about seventy carp up to 38ld!! Not a runs water but had a mint condition mirror carp at 28ld8oz!!

Will certainly be back that’s for sure!!
